Kirrilee - Our Favourite Pop Princess from Melbourne - Returns With A New Single That Asks: Am I Truly Enough?
EMBARGO TO 5TH OF SEPTEMBER, 2025
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Kirrilee returns with her most vulnerable track yet: “When The Lights Go Out”, a pop anthem infused with nervous energy about insecurity, self-doubt, and the longing for acceptance in love.
Known for her dreamy, floating-on-a-cloud sound and raw, diary-entry lyrics, Kirrilee’s latest single peels back the layers of perfectionism and explores the 3AM question many of us ask ourselves when we open up to someone else: Am I Enough?
The track pulses with that internal pressure, full of energy and emotion that captures the tension between self-perception and reality, and the dancing spiral of overthinking that many of her listeners would relate to.
“When The Lights Go Out is about that quiet fear of not being truly accepted,” Kirrilee shares. “Wondering if you’re enough for someone, even when what they really want is for you to be yourself. I wrote it at a point of vulnerability and anxiety in my life, where I realised that I really, really love my partner, and could only hope that they felt the same way. Love is crazy like that. All you can do is put yourself out there and hope the other person feels it too.”
Kirrilee creates pop music for those who feel everything all at once. It’s like DMing with a friend late at night, telling each other all the messy truths. It’s music that feels like that group chat got leaked.
As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Kirrilee continues to showcase authenticity through her music, and encourages love and acceptance in her fanbase, which continues to grow each day. Following the success of her debut EP Dreaming and Other Dangerous Behaviour, which earned her over 36,000 streams,“When The Lights Go Out” marks the first single from her highly anticipated second project.
With a her signature blend of ethereal vocals, and emotional honesty, Kirrilee is quickly becoming a standout voice in Melbourne's pop scene.
“When The Lights Go Out” is available everywhere from the 5th of September 2025.

Kirrilee crafts pop music for the romantics, the overthinkers, and the ones who feel everything all at once. It’s music that feels like THAT group chat got leaked — messy, honest, and way too relatable.
Based in Melbourne, the pansexual artist-designer blends glittery synths and diary-entry lyrics into emotionally rich songs that hit you like a late-night overthink and echo long after they end.
Her debut EP Dreaming and Other Dangerous Behaviour introduced her world — cinematic, cloud-soaked, and unafraid to dig deep and speak up. Whether she’s exploring insecurity, heartbreak, queerness or self-doubt, Kirrilee writes with the kind of honesty that makes strangers feel seen.
With over 37,000 streams, a thriving online fan community, and visuals she designs herself, Kirrilee is building something intimate and expansive — an escape, a mirror, a safe space.
New era coming soon. Bring tissues, block your ex, and text the group chat.
