I’ve had enough weird dating experiences to write a whole album, but ‘Go Away (Garbage Tip)’ felt like the perfect place to start. I wanted to capture the humour in those situations and turn the chaos into something fun. A lot of my music is deeply emotional, but this time I wanted to lean into my sense of humour and write an unapologetically playful breakup anthem that people could laugh, sing and heal along with. It’s cheeky, but also serves as a reminder that sometimes the best thing you can do is laugh, move on, and take the garbage out.
